Anxiety/Depression

If you need help with your mental health then please contact the Rotherham IAPT team. They can arrange counselling and offer you support. You can self-refer to them by calling 03000 215 108 or through their website  https://talkingtherapies.rdash.nhs.uk/

You can also access Rotherham RDaSH website to find many more resources to help all your family, including your children, with their mental health needs https://www.rdash.nhs.uk/

There is also a new website Rother Hive – this is an online platform which has been developed by NHS Rotherham CCG to provide a range of verified practical advice and accurate contact details for local and national mental health and wellbeing services for adults in Rotherham www.rotherhive.co.uk

Drug and alcohol misuse

If you are struggling with drug and alcohol problems you can self-refer to ROADS (Rotherham Alcohol and Drug Service)

Physio first

If you have a new joint problem then please call us and we can direct you to Physio first. This service can arrange for you to have physiotherapy and give you guidance on how to manage your joint problem.

Please be aware that if you speak to a clinician first and they then decide that you need to see a physiotherapist, they will have to refer you and this process does take longer than the above via physio first.

Ear Problems

The Rotherham Ear Care Service has set up a new advice line to help you.  You can ring on the following numbers 01709 423145 or 01709 423207 or 07775 852096 and a specialist nurse will speak to you. You will be seen face to face if this is needed.  You have to be over the age of 18 to use this service.

Eye problems

All minor eye condition patients should contact the Ophthalmology department at the Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust on the following number: 07514 621998

You will be clinically triaged by an Ophthalmology nurse, the service runs between 8am and 6pm. Dependent on the outcome of the triage you will be offered an appointment within the appropriate timeframe at either Rotherham community health centre or at the Urgent and emergency care centre at the main hospital site.

Such examples of when to contact them is if you have loss of vision, sudden blurred vision, eye pain, red eye, dry eye, watery/gritty eye or a foreign body in your eye.

Healthy lifestyle support

The Rotherham Healthwave is commissioned by Rotherham Borough Council and they offer weight management, smoking cessation and increasing physical activity for patients.

Patients can self-refer via the website and complete a self-referral form.

Social Prescribing Link Worker 

Our Link Worker will contact patients who we think may benefit from extra support during this time.  She can help with many things including shopping, medication, befriending etc.  She is employed by Voluntary Action Rotherham to work for GP surgeries across Maltby and Wickersley.  If you would like extra support, please contact the surgery and we will pass your details on.

Dental Care

Dentists are still available for dental care. They are providing advice and triage over the phone and can arrange face to face appointments if necessary.  If you are not registered with a Dentist, please phone your local dentist who should be able to offer advice.  If you require urgent dental care out of hours, please phone NHS111.

Domestic Abuse

The NHS website has advice online for the public on spotting the signs for domestic abuse and domestic violence and where to go for help. The NHS also has a help page for those who have been raped or sexually assaulted.

The Home Office have launched a national campaign to raise awareness of the dedicated support available. The campaign will highlight that isolation rules do not apply in the case of domestic abuse and that police response and support services remain available.

The Home Office is promoting the Freephone 24-hour National Domestic Abuse Helpline number is 0808 2000 247 and associated online support available at nationaldahelpline.org.uk

As part of the campaign, the Home Office has produced detailed advice for those experiencing domestic abuse and domestic violence. In addition, Respect is an anonymous and confidential helpline for men and women who are harming their partners and families. The helpline also takes calls from partners or ex-partners, friends and relatives who are concerned about perpetrators. A webchat service is available.
