Disabled Access
Wickersley Health Centre has full disabled access. There are ramps at all entrances both to the health centre and the pharmacy. External and internal doors are wider for wheelchair access. There is also a disabled toilet.
Named Accountable GP
When a patient registers with a practice they are given a named accountable GP who is responsible for overseeing your care. You do not have to see your named GP when you have an appointment, you can still see the GP of your choice.
Access to Patient Information
The Data Protection Act (1998) gives the patient the right to gain access to any personal data about them which is held at the practice. A request must be made in writing, after paying the appropriate fee. The practice must disclose the data within 40 days of receiving the request. Patients have the right to be informed of the information held, in way that they may understand. The GP may withhold information if there as not been a reasonable interval since the applicant last had access to the records, if the disclosure is likely to cause serious harm to the physical or mental health or condition of the patient or any other person or which could lead to the identification of another individual.
Recording of Patient Calls
We may monitor, record, store and use any telephone, email or other communication with you. This is in order to check any instructions given to us, for training purposes, crime prevention, conflict resolution and to improve the quality of our services.
Freedom of Information – Publication Scheme
The Freedom of Information Act 2000 obliges the practice to produce a Publication Scheme. A Publication Scheme is a guide to the ‘classes’ of information the practice intends to routinely make available. This scheme is available from reception.
